ConsenSys, the global Blockchain specialist recently announced the graduation and certification ceremony of the inaugural Developer Program batch under the emblem of ConsenSys Academy. The ceremony was attended by approximately 150 guests and students including 58 graduating Blockchain developers of which two were from the home country UAE.
Global technology company ConsenSys used the Ethereum blockchain to design and build various decentralised applications (DAPPS). World’s second largest public Blockchain, Ethereum featuring smart contract functionality is an open-source distributed company platform. The gathering was preceded by a hackathon running over a period of three days and was graced by the presence of Smart Dubai Government Establishment CEO, Wesam Lootah and Director General of Smart Dubai Office, Dr. Aisha bint Butti bin Bishr along with top executives of ConsenSys.

Since the announcement by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the October 2016 Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and Crown Prince of Dubai of the Dubai Blockchain Strategy 2020, Dubai has attracted a bevy of talent and expertise from around the globe to assist the city in becoming the foremost Blockchain-powered government. ConsenSys has been an ongoing partner in Dubai’s journey towards this major accomplishment. Consensys’ Dubai-based regional headquarters has moulded into the second largest hub of the global technology company second only to Brooklyn headquarters.
