Bitcoin is taking fine dining to a new level with a New York City based restaurant which serves tempting French delicacies in exchange of Bitcoin. Located in Upper West Side, La Sirène which recently opened its gates to the public claims to be an authentic French joint. This however shall be the second innings of La Sirène franchisee in New York, the first being located in downtown Lower Manhattan.
West Side Rag blog revealed that in spite of accepting cash, cheque, Bitcoins and American Express, the food joint gives Visa and Mastercard a miss. Reacting to the blog post, one reader wrote:
“They take bitcoin, but not Visa? Who are they hoping to market to? Makes no sense.” Another person wrote, “Bitcoin but no “regular” credit cards (Visa, MasterCard)? Guess they only want to attract the Amex crowd (biz travelers, business people?) … and millennials with bitcoin. And who writes checks anymore?”

Free Keene a pro-bitcoin and pro-decentralization organization located in New Hampshire unveiled a food truck which serves hot meals in and around Keene in exchange of Bitcoin. Bon Vivant – Gourmet Street Food is the first food truck accepting similar payment mode. However food is not the only industry who have been bewitched by Bitcoin’s spell. Cooperative RadioTaxi 3570, the biggest taxi firm in Italy made the announcement of making transportation easier by accepting Bitcoin in exchange of their services. Bic Camera, an electronics retailer in Japan agreed to Bitcoin acceptance across all its stores thus becoming the first major retailer in Japan to do so. London residency tenants can pay for their tenancy rent by using cryptocurrencies. With Bitcoin Price racing over 7000$ it is only a matter of time till more companies join the Bitcoin plethora.
