 The Sant’Agostino Auction House in Italy that is based out of Rome has recently announced that it will be adopting the new fintech technology and will be allowing its patrons to make payments in Bitcoins.

Till now the use of Bitcoins are a daily transaction currency has been quite a low and has been more used as a investing or a trading option. However, off lately we have seen several real estate players wherein payments are involved in huge sums of money have started accepting Bitcoins.

Also, the world of fine art and luxury have always been close associates to the world of cryptocurrencies. A gallery called as Contemporary was first-of-its-kind to accept payments in Bitcoins in exchange of its unique art pieces. Much recently, another gallery in Mayfair, London started to accept payments in Bitcoin

Now, one of the largest auction houses in Rome, Italy – the Sant’Agostino – has opened its doors to settle up payments in Bitcoin for its unique collection of jewellery, furniture, watches and paintings. In its very first sale that will be open to Bitcoin bidders, the auction house is said to have a total of 600 Italian and foreign design object most of which will be furniture pieces.

However, the action house has not seemed to have put enough efforts to woo Bitcoin enthusiasts and investors. In a simple statement it said: “Bitcoins will be accepted as payment” for the upcoming sale.

Off lately, the investor interest and participation in Bitcoins has increased manifold times with the Bitcoin prices surging to new highs. For early investors who have already made a handsome return on their investments, parking a part of its crypto-money in luxury good items can be a healthy alternative.
