Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has expressed bullish sentiments about the future of crypto in Africa. Dorsey who spent some time in different African countries, posted a tweet saying that Africa will define the Bitcoin future.

Dorsey visited Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia and South Africa, spending time with the tech community, which also included several Bitcoin enthusiasts. Dorsey who is also the CEO of Square is a very vocal supporter of Bitcoin and has previously promised that CashApp will integrate support for Bitcoin’s Lightning Network, sometime in the future.
In the same tweet, Dorsey also announced that even though he is not yet sure when exactly or where yet, he will be “living [in Africa] for 3-6 months” sometime in mid 2020. Reactions to the announcement were not very shocking as Dorsey is known in many quarters, to live a humble and somewhat nomadic lifestyle, not very common among billionaires.
Recently, the governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) Ernest Addison, has said that there is a possibility that the country will issue a national digital currency sometime in the near future. Speaking at the 23rd National Banking Conference, Addison said it was the next step, especially because the country’s banking sector is now more “resilient.”
