Surat builder Sailesh Bhatt had alleged that he was abducted by the Amreli Local Crime Branch (LCB) Inspector Anant Patel, who forcibly made him transfer 200 Bitcoin currency of Rs. 12 crore from his account and pay up Rs. 32 crore in cash.

Bhatt said there were other policemen from the Amreli LCB who helped Patel and kept him confined at a farmhouse near Gandhinagar. He was then forced to share his passwords and code for the transfer of Bitcoins.

On April 8, the CID-Crime registered a case against Anant Patel and others for allegedly kidnapping Bhatt and extorting bitcoins, a popular crypto-currency, and some cash from him. Jagdish was mentioned in this complaint

Police had earlier said they were verifying Bhatt’s claim of digitally transferring 200 bitcoins to Anant Patel. Anant Patel was taken into custody last week while 2 constables and lawyers were taken into custody on March 8th.

The Bitcoin crime has been increasing worldwide and is a red flag for the crypto users to keep their digital coins safe and invest in the right kind of protection medium.
