The Bitcoin Price has been taking its downsides but one must acknowledge that the coin remains undeterred and unmatched when it comes to its popularity.

Bitcoin Google searches may have dropped by 75% this year in direct relation to the price however, people are still searching for the worlds to digital currency more than Beyoncé and Blockchain.

Nicholas Colas, co-founder of DataTrek Research, believes that the drop in Google searches for Bitcoin isn’t a good sign for prices.

In an email sent to clients earlier in the week, Colas said this:

“We use Google Trends to track search queries for Bitcoin as a proxy for potential new buyers… Bitcoin needs a new narrative in order to re-establish global attention.”

Over the course of the past month, the searches for Bitcoin have been greater than the number of searches for Beyoncé and Trump, who are easily the most recognizable people in the world today.

In fact, it is surprisingly more popular on Google than some of the biggest stars in the world today, a few are, Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian. But the one which really stands out is going to be the biggest event of 2018, the World Cup. Even Bitcoin surpasses the World Cup for being one of the hottest search terms right now on the search engine.

All this information clearly shows that Bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency. It was actually the second most popular search term on Google in 2017.

Bitcoin fell below $6,800 on Tuesday. It has dropped roughly 10 percent since Sunday when South Korean crypto exchange Coinrail said it had been hacked.
