Bitcoin Hits New All-Time High of $28,696 As Year Ends

Bitcoin

Bitcoin hit an all-time high of $28,696 on the 30th of December. On the day, the leading digital asset jumped 8% as it soared towards $30,000. Before recording a new high, Bitcoin traded around $26,000 on the 29th of December.

Over time, there have been several bullish and bearish predictions on BTC. Cointelegraph Market analyst Michael van de Poppe previously said that BTC would record new highs once it crosses $27,500.

As Bitcoin rallies, other altcoins have also been pulling in gains. Analysts are predicting a bullish 2021 for ETH as the crypto asset hits $750 with a market cap close to $86 billion. Notably, ETH has been trading below $700 over the last two years.

Bloomberg analyst Mike McGlone is also bullish on the price of Bitcoin. Speaking in an interview with Bloomberg Television, the analyst said that BTC would hit $17,000 by 2022.

Also, Polkadot (DOT) continues to increase, gaining 34% on the 29th of December.

On the other hand, Ripple’s XRP has been declining as the company faces a lawsuit with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Following the SEC suit, several exchanges have moved to delist XRP from their platforms, leading to a continuous decline in the crypto asset. Shortly after major US exchange, Coinbase, announced the delisting of XRP, the price of the asset on Coinbase fell from $0.28 to $0.24.
