Bitcoin Surpasses 1 Million Daily Active Addresses

Bitcoin | BTC | DAA | Daily Active Addresses

Bitcoin cruises over an important milestone on June 15th achieving over a million daily active addresses (DAA) as per data. A number that counts the number of unique “from” or “to” addresses used per day.

Notably, the said number is one that wasn’t observed since November 27, 2017. Kevin Rooke noticed the move and Tweeted:

When Bitcoin first broke 1 million active addresses (Nov 27, 2017), 1 BTC was $9,352 and the median tx fee was $3.23. Yesterday 1 BTC was $8,230 and the median tx fee was $1.33.

Though DAA isn’t a major pointer, it’s an important metric which shows actual, unique transfers separate from the various direct transfers to and from bigger exchanges. Looking over there are a million unique addresses transacting on the blockchain is probably great for bitcoin.

To put all of this in perspective,  Uber observed an estimated 14 million rides per day and Apple sold over 798,877 iPhones a day in 2017. Though the comparisons aren’t really apple vs apple, it is interesting to note that bitcoin is observing a transaction volume similar to the biggest brands in the world.
