Crypto data aggregator CoinMarketCap has launched a token swap feature on its website through a Uniswap integration. CoinMarketCap’s Ethereum-focused token pages now have a swap icon that will allow users to connect a wallet and swap between ERC-20 tokens. According to the crypto data website, the supported wallets are from Coinbase, MetaMask, Fortmatic, WalletConnect, and Portis.

In reaction to CoinMarketCap’s announcement of the launch, Uniswap said in a tweet:

“We’re incredibly excited to see Uniswap integrated natively into CoinMarketCap. Token pages now have a “Swap” icon allowing users to connect to an Ethereum wallet and instantly trade the token through the Uniswap protocol. awesome work on the integration.”

Revealing plans, CoinMarketCap said that more DEX and networks may join the network in the future. The data website added that Ethereum is the only supported network at the time, and Uniswap (V1 and V2) are the “first DEX for token swaps.”

CoinMarketCap explained how to use the token swaps on its website. The first step is for users to navigate to the page of the coin they want to swap, after which they will select the “Swap on CoinMarketCap” option. Then, the crypto available for swap and the amount will be displayed, and users will be required to connect a wallet and sign the blockchain translation.

The new development spells progress for the sector, at a time CoinMarketCap’s sister company Binance is facing scrutiny with the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
