Congress Accuses India’s Ruling Party BJP in INR 5000 Crore Bitcoin Scam

Congress | BJP | Shaktisinh Gohil | Bitcoin Scam 5000 Crores | Amit Shah Bitcoin Scam

The Congress on Thursday alleged that a “bitcoin scam” of more than Rs 5,000 crore had surfaced in Gujarat with suspected involvement of some BJP leaders and demanded a Supreme Court-monitored judicial probe into the issue.

According to a report by HT, Congress spokesperson Shaktisinh Gohil told reporters here that it was a multi-layered scam and the Gujarat CID had estimated it to be of more than Rs 5,000 crore though some vernacular news reports and independent blogs have put the value of illegalities at Rs 88,000 crore.

Gohil, a former Leader of the Opposition in Gujarat and now the Congress in-charge for Bihar, also claimed that the Surat-based builder was abducted by police officials from Amreli district to allegedly extort 200 Bitcoins or 10 crore. After the builder approached Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home Pradeepsinh Jadeja, an investigation was launched by the Gujarat CID.

“The CID then discovered that the mastermind of this scam was Nalin Kotadiya,” Mr. Gohil. He alleged that there is political pressure on the Gujarat CID to hush it up and that’s why a second complaint was surprisingly filed against the Surat builder.

“We demand an impartial Supreme Court-monitored judicial investigation in this maze of ‘Mega Bitcoin Scam’ so that the truth comes out,”

He continued,

“As the BJP is scrambling for answers to explain how Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank, whose director is BJP chief Amit Shah, received old currency worth ~745.58 crore in just five days and how ~3118.51 crore was deposited in 11 district co-operative banks linked with BJP leaders in Gujarat itself, a new ‘mega bitcoin scam’ worth more than RS 5,000 crore has been unravelled in the state,”

He said Modi government had sent investigative agencies “to hound Gujarat Congress MLAs” but “does not bother to investigate this scam in which an absconding mastermind BJP leader has made serious allegations of how top BJP leaders are linked with this entire sage of illicit money transactions”

BJP spokesperson Anil Baluni said the allegation of the Congress were “laughable” and nothing can be more unfortunate as it is the state police which has cracked the case and acted against several persons.

“The dirty tricks department of the Congress is at work to spread confusion and lies. It is blaming the police who have uncovered the case. I wonder if the Congress is trying to help somebody in this case as part of a conspiracy,”
