One of the leading institutions in the world London School of Economics that have educated the heads of state and Nobel laureates is the latest university to offer a course on cryptocurrency.
They have introduced an online course entitled “Cryptocurrency Investment and Disruption” for £1800 for sixty hours of learning. The blurb for the course reads a bit like it was written in late-2017/early-2018 when crypto-euphoria had well and truly set in and everyone was quitting their jobs for the love of the digital token.
According to its description, students will learn the practical skills to interact with cryptocurrency exchanges as well as how to use wallets and evaluate the analytics of an initial coin offering (ICO). Students will also explore how cryptocurrencies and blockchain will “share the future of money, markets, and industries” with an international cohort of professionals.
“During this course you will be provided with the information, knowledge and frameworks to deepen your understanding of blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies – how they operate and the implications for business and the economy. You will not be given cryptocurrency investing advice, or investment or financial advice of any nature.”
The course is headed by Dr Carsten Sørensen, Associate Professor of Information Systems and Innovation. LSE is not the only top-notch institution to join the list of institutions offering crypto course. Cambridge, NYU, Northwestern, Stanford, Wharton and Georgetown, have introduced crytpo courses recently.
The first batch for the course starts on 14 August 2018, and will take six weeks to complete (excluding orientation) with an estimated commitment of about seven to ten hours per week. This course is also certified by the United Kingdom CPD Certification Service.
And just to be on the safe side, the institution adds that, “You will not be given cryptocurrency investing advice, or investment or financial advice of any nature.”
