The latest blockchain news is the partnership of Dash with Arizona State University (ASU) to establish a Blockchain Research Lab. Fulton College of Engineering at ASU will receive funds from Dash for the research lab.
Blockchain research lab in the educational sphere
Dash is funding the high-end blockchain research in the educational sphere. The new lab intends to delve into possibilities that cryptocurrency and the technology behind it, Blockchain, can benefit everyman. The research lab will not only provide students a hands on experience with the Blockchain Technology, but will also focus on the scope of improvement for cryptocurrencies.

Initial research covers a few key topics
Considering the recent Bitcoin hard fork on August 1, one topic that is of more interest at the moment is scalability. Therefore, viability of various long-term solutions for Blockchain scaling will be included in the scope of research at the lab.
Research will also be focused towards methods to lessen the environmental impact of cryptocurrency mining. The scope could be to identify or minimize the level of hash rate needed to confirm the security of the network.
Another topic of research could be to establish the best way to avoid increasing centralization in cryptocurrency mining. After all, decentralization is the primary feature of Blockchain technology, then this is surely one of the key aspects of research.
Dash’s self-funded research
The Dash network is directly funding The Blockchain Research Lab. Dash follows an innovative model whereby 45% of block rewards go to miners, other 45% goes to master nodes, and rest 10% goes to a network development budget.
Undoubtedly, Dash will be using the research outcomes for the betterment of their own network. Moreover, the results will also be available for other cryptocurrencies for implement as they see fit.
Taking self-improvement certainly very seriously, Dash also funded a bug bounty program through the same network development scheme.
Dash on all time high
Following this partnership announcement, Dash prices surged to an all-time high. Obviously, there will be an increase in the budget distribution for future network development.
Considering this price surge and the collaboration with Arizona State University, one can anticipate a better future network.
Hopefully, this will help grow Dash network, isn’t it? What do you think? Comment your views below.
