EOS Scores First Position In Chinese Blockchain Rankings Again, Ethereum Stands 2nd & Bitcoin 15th

EOS | Ethereum | Chinese Blockchain Ranking | Blockchain | Bitcoin

EOS maintains its No.1 spot in the crypto rankings by China’s Center for Information and Industry Development (CCID). Ethereum (ETH) scores the second position, while Bitcoin (BTC) is on the 15th.

The government-sponsored rankings of major cryptocurrencies were first announced in May last year, the ninth edition of the index was disclosed in the press release on Jan. 24. EOS has been placed as the top-ranked blockchain, since June 2018 and continued its place in the CCID Global Public Chain Technology Evaluation Index for the first ranking of 2019 as well.

In November last year, EOS faced a massive controversy when its governance model was exposed by evidence suggesting that some confirmed transactions were reversed.

Ethereum (ETH) maintains its second position from the December’s ranking, even after the recent announcement of the network postponing their hard fork until late February. While Bitcoin has shown progress as it moves up from the 18th place it held in December last year to the 15th.

The second largest cryptocurrency as per the market cap, Ripple (XRP) is placed on the 20th position in the ranking. However,  a recent research from a cryptocurrency research firm, Messari argues that XRP’s circulating market caps is “significantly overstated”, and it is not the second-largest cryptocurrency.
