Ethereum Based Blockchain Game Coming To Sony Playstation 4

The Blockchain technology and cryptocurrency have managed to cross the threshold of the PlayStation 4 platform as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will be now a part of the platform, all thanks to the Plague Hunters. The single-player-focused, turn-based strategy RPG game is a sequel to the successful Plague Road and includes some PvP elements.

Gamer, Arcade Distillery, also known for creating titles for PS Vita, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, will soon be introducing a new game for the PS4 built around the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain. Plague Hunters has gone through the Sony review process and pass all of PlayStation’s terms and conditions. With numerous elements of blockchain tech, Plague Hunters became the first blockchain game to achieve this feat.

The free-to-play game will feature a marketplace for P2P transactions and the in-game assets will include units, weapons and other items, which will be pegged to NFTs. The description of Plague Hunters on the Arcade Distillery website states:

“Build your army of hunters. Train them and prepare them or battle. Trade your hunters on the blockchain-based marketplace with other players.”

Slated to release n Q1 2019, the Nintendo Switch and PC versions are currently in development. The company is also thinking of developing mobile and Xbox One as additional platform options. The games’ reveal teaser:
