Forbes, the U.S. based business news outlet has earlier stepped into the world of blockchain network with a collab with civil, now the publishing house wants to rule the space of information reference in the crypto verse and announced the launch of a crypto tracking portal dubbed as Forbes CryptoMarkets and licensed by the Forbes Brand name.
The press release dated October 22, 2018, stated the Forbes team’s key agenda, an aim that is quite ambitious and puts it in direct competition with several reputable websites within the ecosystem such as coinmarketcap and cryptopanic. The statement notes:
“Forbes CryptoMarkets, which goes live in beta form today, features real-time pricing and volume information on several thousand cryptocurrencies and an initial five cryptocurrency indices worldwide. The comprehensive site also provides:
• Insights and information on worldwide exchanges such as listed cryptocurrencies, trading pairs, pricing, and volumes;
• A real-time newsfeed aggregating content from leading news organizations and companies, including content from Forbes’ family of sites worldwide;
• Indices tracking the performance of curated baskets of cryptocurrencies;
• Content from Forbes.com and other sources, including insightful articles and in-depth video interviews with cryptocurrency pioneers, thought leaders and other experts.”
Along with presenting itself as an all-in-one solution, Forbes will track and report the performance of some indices explicitly created for the crypto market, such as, “FB30,” Forbes CryptoMarkets Top 30 Global, “FB10,” Top 10 Global, “FBCC“,Top Cryptocurrencies Global, “FBAPPS”, Top 10 Blockchain and DApps Global among others.
The CEO of Forbes Media, Mike Federle, CEO shared his vision of Forbes eventual role in consolidating and supporting the growth of the ecosystem, at the launch of Forbes CryptoMarkets
