Former Heavyweight Boxer Mike Tyson Launches New Blockchain Powered Startup

There have been many scenarios where blockchain technology has been applied for use in various sectors including education, entertainment, energy and finance. For entertainment, gaming has probably been the biggest recipient of blockchain projects, but this is starting to spread to other sectors. Now, former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson, has founded a new blockchain powered platform for fighters.

Fight to Fame

According to reports, the new project will be called “Fight to Fame” and through blockchain technology, will create various channels for upcoming fighters to achieve their dreams through games, live matches, social media and even reality TV. It will also help these fighters gain more control of their careers and track progress properly.

Tyson who at 20 years became the youngest boxer ever to win a heavyweight title and still holds the record to this day, has noted that he wants to use his experience and expertise to give back to the industry, and help upcomers as much as possible. He said:

“The idea of Fight to Fame came from thinking about the problem of not having new action stars coming through the pipeline. As a seasoned fighter, I want to mentor future generations, especially future action stars and make sure there’s a path to career success and fair compensation. Building this global platform for them is a passion of mine.”

Tyson has been known to be a crypto enthusiast and even previously started “http://kryptomoney.com/cryptocurrencies-celebrities-bitcoin-celebrities/”>The Mike Tyson Bitcoin ATM. This is another related endeavour which will have him as the founder and the chairman of the sports and competition committee and Farzam Kamalabadi as its CEO and financial expert. Furthermore, two-time Emmy award winner, Tim Smith, will be in charge of television production and Stan Larimer will head the cryptocurrency and blockchain part of the firm.
