Google Data Reveals “Ethereum” Searches Hit All-Time High

Digital Assets

Ethereum’s(ETH) recent impressive performance has led to a spike in Google searches. Google Trends data has revealed that the number of searches for ‘Ethereum’ is currently at its peak.

Ethereum’s previous peak in search popularity was on Jan. 13, 2018 — the date of ETH’s all-time high of $1,432.88. However, in January, its popularity increased by 5x.

The upsurge all over the world is even more remarkable. Ethereum spike in the United States has exceeded the 2018 record by 17%. But worldwide, the metrics are now higher than in 2018 by 33%. Regardless, the price of Ethereum is still 18% below the historic all-time high.

In contrast, Bitcoin has become far less popular on Google. Meanwhile, when Bitcoin recorded an all-time high of $19,900, Ethereum was three times lower. Although Bitcoin hit a new all-time high of $42,000, but has now dropped below $40,000. According to crypto traders, the fluctuating trajectory of interest in the asset may be a good enough measure of their individual performances.

Generally, it is not yet possible to make a healthy comparison at this stage. No one knows if the increase is the cause or effect of the bullish run.
