Huobi Global which has had a successful year so far, has concluded plans to release a new, more cost-effective blockchain phone called the Acute Angle. Made by Huobi-backed Whole Network, the phone will debut at $515 and will be based on the Android operating system. The Acute Angle has already been released to the public in China and is expected to be launched in SouthEast Asia at an undisclosed date in the fourth quarter of 2019.
According to Livio Weng, Huobi Global CEO, blockchain phones will do great especially as innovation in technology is constantly on the rise. Weng also suggests that crypto and blockchain enthusiasts will be interested in using blockchain phones for their daily lives and transactions:
“We think blockchain phones are a promising area for future blockchain industry development. As the industry develops and as innovations like 5G become increasingly integrated into our telecommunications systems, we believe more and more crypto communities will want to trade and transact from mobile devices.”
Whole Network plans to release more blockchain phones in the future and is very specific about equipping these devices with 5G support. Huobi Global has also announced the launch of a new Whole Network NODE token for listing on the Huobi Prime.
Other features of the Acute Angle device includes pre-installed support for blockchain features such as push trade notifications and a fully functional DApp wallet. It also has a cold-wallet plugin which a user can choose to install, as well as the NODE native token.
