IBM launches Blockchain Accelerator Programme, aims to kickstart Blockchain Adoption for Enterprises

Tech giant IBM recently announced that it has launched the the IBM Blockchain Founder Accelerator to help companies and enterprises to develop blockchain solutions for them The Accelerator will help in building the Blockchain platform for the company which is developing it.

IBM Blockchain Founder Accelerator is the first of its kind that provides support, technical know-how and professional expertise while developing a Blockchain network. Developer and interested Enterprises/companies can join to gain exclusive access to technology and consulting

Developing a Blockchain network is not an easy task. It requires detailed knowledge about the platform and technical know-how to build it. IBM Blockchain Founder Accelerator is founded for the purpose to resolve the hasseles faced by new/inexperienced developers. It is designed to sort out the key challenges and difficulties that the early-stage developers face while developing a Blockchain network. The program also provides one-to-one mentorship and support by the founders of the accelerator Programme.

In addition to the above, the members of the Accelerator Programme will also gain access to new latest prebuilt software assets, delivered via IBM Cloud, which will help  to reduce the time and technical expertise which is needed by developers to script complex blockchain code.

IBM have built Blockchain platforms for more than 400 clients globally and the assets provided to members of the accelerator programme is based on  the past experience of IBM in building blockchain platforms. Along with IBM’s established blockchain cloud services, these new capabilities will help clients rapidly create highly secure, cloud-based blockchain ecosystems.

About the IBM Blockchain Accelerator Programme

IBM will select and include Eight blockchain network founders in it’s accelerator programme which will be spread across a range of industries such as banking, logistics, manufacturing and retail. The programme is  fee-based and will provide organizations with guidance, mentoring, support and technical expertise to build their networks and get their progarmme functional. Scholarships are also available for selected organizations.

Program members will gain access to:

  • Design Thinking Workshops– Based on the principles and methodologies of IBM’s global network of Bluemix Garages, network founders will get access to agile design “bootcamps” designed to help them quickly build, iterate and launch the networks, leveraging the best practices and founder experience gained from over a dozen Blockchain networks in production.
  • Founder Mentorship One-on-Ones— Technical and business mentors from IBM Research team creating Blockchain solutions and assets, IBM Labs contributing to and helping maintain Hyperledger Fabric (a blockchain framework and one of the Hyperledger projects hosted by The Linux Foundation) and the IBM Bluemix Garage delivering Blockchain projects, as well as major contributors to Hyperledger Fabric and early users of IBM Blockchain will work directly with the participants and provide counsel including code review and business coaching.
  • IBM Cloud Services— IBM technology resources will be available to founders, including IBM Blockchain solutions via IBM Bluemix, IBM’s cloud platform. Bluemix hosts IBM’s enterprise-ready blockchain service that supports the Hyperledger Fabric. All participants will also receive up to $120,000 worth of IBM Cloud credits to fully leverage the ecosystem, as well as access to IBM Bluemix Garage sessions for development.
