As the blockchain industry continues to grow bigger, the same can be said for decentralized applications (DApps) as well. To highlight the sector’s growth, a new report has revealed interesting details about the DApp industry for last year.
According to the DappReview’s 2019 Dapp Market Report, the trailblazers for last year’s DApp market are Ethereum, Tron, and EOS. The report says that the three public chains controlled more than 98.65% of the total transaction volume for the DApp market in 2019.
The report described them as the “Big Three”. Specifically, the total transaction volume for Ethereum hit 12.8 billion USD. EOS pulled in 6.1 billion USD, with Tron at 4.4 billion USD. This puts the total for all three at 23.3 billion USD. For the number of transactions, Ethereum totaled 22.4 million with TRON sitting at 420.5 million. EOS topped them all with more than 1.1 billion transactions.
The report also included information on the number of DApps. According to DappReview, there were 1,955 new Dapps unveiled throughout the year. This pushed the total number of past 4,000.
To further the DApp market, Baidu recently announced a new blockchain service called Xuperchain. According to the announcement, Xuperchain will make it easy for small and medium-sized businesses as well as developers, to create their own DApps.
