Citizens who are resident in Colombia are set to receive 20 new cryptocurrency ATMs, spread across different parts of the country. The project which is a joint effort from Bitcoin marketplace, Paxful, as well as blockchain firm CoinLogiq, also have their eyes set on Peru and intend to deploy 25 additional crypto ATMs there as well.

The effort will be initially focused on bringing these ATM machines to major areas in Colombia such as its capital and largest city of Bogota, as well as Medellin, where CoinLogiq is based. The companies hope to spread cryptocurrency adoption by persuading people to use the ATMs in these areas, allowing more than a few methods of payments for purchasing Bitcoin including gift cards, fund transfers, debit and credit cards, along with cash.

According to Dwayne Golden Sr., the CEO of CoinLogiq, the partnership between both firms to provide these ATMs will do a lot for crypto adoption.

“I am now even more convinced that mass adoption will not happen without the influence of the kind of synergy that can now exist as a result of this Paxful and CoinLogiq joint venture.”

Reportedly, Colombians are very interested in crypto so much that the country’s Central Bank is already looking to support the use of distributed ledger technologies to ensure proper use and security of digital assets among interested participants.

Paxful CEO and co-founder, Ray Youssef, has also spoken highly of the CoinLogiq team. Youssef said:

“Latin America has real heroes in the CoinLogiq crew. They genuinely care and are focused on real use cases. This is what makes Bitcoin real and a part of people’s daily lives. We are proud to work with them.”
