Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently spoke about the company and all of the steps it is taking. Garlinghouse is unsurprisingly bullish about what achievements Ripple and XRP will make this year. However, he was even more bullish about Ripple’s future.
Speaking in an interview with CNN’s Julia Chatterley, Garlinghouse predicts that by 2025, Ripple will become the Amazon of the crypto industry.
The interview suggests that Garlinghouse is a lot more focused on the company’s long-term life than anything in the short-term. Ripple has already started solving problems for many financial institutions, especially regarding cross-border transactions.
Last year, Ripple invested $50 million in multinational payment processing company MoneyGram. The company is now handling some of its cross-border remittances via Ripple’s On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) channel. Garlinghouse believes that Ripple will continue to do more with payments.
He also added that he is interested in the general growth and development of the crypto sector as opposed to competing with other digital assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum. XRP is the third-largest cryptocurrency in the market.
Speaking on the company’s growth, the CEO said Ripple is increasing its staff strength while others are shedding. He said:
“We’ve added more than 150 employees last year, at a time when I think others have been less focused on solving real-world problems. There’s been a bunch of layoffs in the crypto community over the past weeks.”
