It just doesn’t make sense. This thing is not regulated, it’s not under control, it’s not under the supervision of any central bank. I just don’t believe in this Bitcoin thing. I think it’s just going to implode one day. I think this is Enron in the making,” said the 62 year old member of Al Saud royal family just one month back during an interview conducted by CNBC.

However destiny seemed to have other things in store for this Saudi Prince as he had to bite to bait and fall prey to his own curse. Bitcoin-critic Alwaleed bin Talal was arrested on Saturday night under charges of money laundering in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Named by twitteraties as Prince Alt-Delete following his infamous comment regarding chances of President Donald Trump losing the U.S. elections, Alwaleed was picked up in an anti-corruption round up headed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman which also targeted 40 other top Saudi ministers including the director of the Saudi National Royal Guard, the Minister of Economy and Planning and Commander of the Saudi Naval Forces as well as 10 other Saudi princes.

Whether this anti-corruption cell leading to Alwaleed’s imprisonment is valid or is just a part of the great royal counter-coup is yet to be deciphered. However if such charges prove to be true then it surely will be a great irony given Alwaleed’s negative stance on Bitcoin since the very beginning by advocating the same as a scam vehicle.
