Tata Consultancy Services Releases Development Kit For Blockchain App Development

TCS

According to a recently published press release, Mumbai-based IT, consulting, and business solutions company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has released an app development kit (DevKit) that will allow companies to build blockchain applications.

Dubbed the Quartz DevKit, TCS describes it as a low code development kit that makes it very easy for enterprises to create and deploy these applications on popular blockchain platforms. The press release says that the Quartz DevKit is specifically low code because it’s created to easily work on these platforms without the complexity that each one carries. However, the DevKit can allow developers to add more code as they might be specific to a particular blockchain. The DevKit supports building applications for Ethereum, R3’s Corda, and also the Hyperledger Fabric.

The company also says that with the DevKit, developers will be able to create smart contracts up to 40% faster than other methods. The release adds to other solutions including the Quartz Gateway and the Quartz Command Center administration tool that allows easier management and integration.

Speaking on the DevKit, TCS Global Quartz Head Ramgopal Vivekanand has said the company wants to make it very easy for creators to build solutions much easier and faster. Vivekanand said:

“Many of our customers, across industries, are leveraging blockchain technology to establish frictionless transactions across their extended ecosystem. We developed the Quartz DevKit to help their teams rapidly put together high-quality pilots using smart contracts on any platform with reduced coding effort. We have received very positive feedback from our pilot customers, and are pleased to make the DevKit available for use at scale,”

Back in April, TCS created the world’s first cross-border securities settlement using the Quartz blockchain.
