World Economic Forum Deploys Blockchain Toolkit to Help Post-COVID19 Economy

WEF

In a new report, the World Economic Forum (WEF) has revealed that it will use blockchain technology, as a way to properly deal with the fallout from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The Forum says that it is deploying blockchain-specific solutions to tackle the break in transmission created by the pandemic.

The WEF wants to specifically look into disruptions in the supply chain. To this effect, it has released a blockchain deployment toolkit, aimed at the government and also at organizations. The blockchain deployment kit will help these entities to adapt properly to the problems they will face after the pandemic blows over.

The ‘Redesigning Trust: Blockchain Deployment Toolkit’ was being developed for over a year. Over 100 entities across 50 countries were integral to the development of the blockchain toolkit. They include Maersk, Deloitte, the World Food Program, and the World Bank, amongst others.

WEF USA blockchain and digital currency project member Nadia Hewett said the toolkit would be great for smaller companies that might be hardest-hit.

“The blockchain deployment toolkit is essential for designing solutions that work for a multitude of actors, including smaller players who may not have access to the resources required to unlock the value of blockchain technology.”

China has also launched its national blockchain service for worldwide access, helping entities create blockchain applications.
