The Lolli app which rewards users via Bitcoin (BTC), has announced a partnership with major Chinese e-Commerce firm Alibaba, to give the firm’s customers up to 5% back when they shop using Bitcoin. Announced on China’s Guanggun Jie or Singles Day – a very popular shipping holiday in China for single people, Alibaba shoppers can now earn satoshis (sats) – Bitcoin’s smallest unit equal to 0.00000001 BTC for shopping.

Lolli co-founder and CEO Alex Adelman has expressed excitement at the partnership with Alibaba, calling it a “milestone partnership for Lolli”, celebrating the alliance with the world’s largest e-commerce firm. Adelman said:

“Our partnership allows our users to earn free Bitcoin on millions of products online every day. Arguably the most important piece of this partnership is that it supports our mission of connecting the entire world through commerce.”

However, the feature is restricted to the United States and Chinese shoppers will not be able to enjoy the offering. In addition, all the products available for this feature will have to directly shipped to the US buyers, all the way from China.

Speaking with Coindesk, Adelman has however said that even though the offering will begin strictly for US residents, it will not stay that way for very long.

“This partnership is a great first step to connect the two largest economies, China and the US, through Bitcoin and Commerce. The opportunity is available for US users only for now but we plan to expand internationally soon, letting everyone in the world easily earn and own Bitcoin.”
