PWC- PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the biggest names in the world of auditing has recently started accepting payment in the form of Bitcoins from an undisclosed client for services rendered. Announcement of the same was made by Raymund Chao, the Asia-Pacific chairman of PwC- one of the world’s big four accounting firm on November 30th.
Raymund described this move of the audit firm as a signal that the firm is slowly “embracing new technology,” and that “it is also an indication that bitcoin and other established cryptocurrencies have now developed into more broadly accepted forms of settlement.”
The payment was received by the company’s Hong-Kong branch. A representative belonging to the same revealed that this move was triggered by the fact that this global magnate had off late been collaborating with a large number of blockchain startups. The association of PwC with the world of cryptocurrency is also quite old. PwC is one of the original members of the Swiss-based Crypto Valley Association. Earlier this year, PwC wore an advisory cap while dealing with a blockchain-integrated project which was spearheaded by Alibaba, the Chinese e-commerce leader and directed at fighting off food counterfeiting.
