Tether’s USDT is expected to see a boost in usage as blockchain hotel booking platform Travala.com has added the crypto. Starting immediately, travelers all over the world are free to make hotel reservations on its platform, making USDT payments.
Speaking on the USDT decision, Travala.com CEO Matt Luczynski said it was necessary to expand its list of supported digital assets.
“Part of our mission is to provide our users with a wide choice of the most well known and used cryptocurrencies so it made perfect sense for us to integrate USDT as a payment option on Travala.com.”
The crypto-friendly platform is one of the largest in the industry, with staff strength more than 17,000. The announcement further says that Travala.com has a presence in more than 230 countries and territories. Based in Amsterdam, the company also allows customers access to over 90,000 destinations on millions of hotels.
Before USDT, Travala.com already has a good list of supported cryptocurrencies. They include Bitcoin (BTC), Binance Coin (BNB), Stellar (XLM), Cardano (ADA), XRP, Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Ethereum (ETH). Travala.com also boasts that it is more cost-effective, with prices up to 40% lower than other similar platforms.
The travel industry is now seeing more crypto involvement. Crypto travel platform TravelByBit has partnered with Binance to create a travel card that will reward customers who make bookings using crypto.
