HTC Reveals 5G Exodus Blockchain Router That Can Run A Full Bitcoin node

HTC

Taiwanese consumer electronics company HTC has revealed a new blockchain router that will allow its owners to easily run a full Bitcoin node. The router is 5G powered and HTC says it should be ready for public market release sometime in the middle of this year.

The router is dubbed the Exodus 5G Hub and will have its own Zion vault which will allow users to keep their private keys. According to HTC’s decentralized chief officer Phil Chen, Exodus is pro-privacy and allows users to take complete control of their data.

“Exodus is about ownership. Owning your keys, owning your data, owning your privacy. Exodus is the shield against the onslaught of big tech and its assault on the privacy of your home. By using the Exodus 5G Hub, you have more control and ownership of your data than ever before.”

Before now, HTC released two Exodus smartphones. Both offerings also include the Zion vault. In support of privacy, the company also said that it plans to integrate many privacy-focused projects with all of its Exodus devices including the smartphones and the new blockchain hub. It said apps like the encrypted email from ProtonMail, Incognito VPN and Brave browser will be supported.

HTC has not said how much the hub will sell for.
